Giclee Prices
What is a Gicleé?
A Giclee' is a museum quality, archival digital reproduction of fine art printed with an ink jet printer. It is common practice for artists to use inkjet printing to reproduce their original artwork. Giclees provide the highest 'collectable' quality reproduction and can be stored or displayed. Our giclees are all hand signed and canvases 16x24 and larger are embellished in acrylic paint to produce the look and feel of an original painting.
The Giclée Process: A Glimpse into Peter O'Neill’s Artistry
Peter O'Neill, a renowned artist known for his captivating paintings, has embraced the Giclée printing process to bring his art to a wider audience without compromising the integrity of his original works. The Giclée process, a term derived from the French word "gicler" meaning "to spray," is a sophisticated method that allows for the reproduction of fine art with incredible accuracy and detail.
At the heart of O'Neill's Giclée process is the use of high-resolution digital scans of his original paintings. These scans capture every nuance of the artwork, from the vibrant colors to the subtle textures. Unlike traditional printing methods that can lose some of the richness and depth of the original, Giclée printing preserves the essence of O'Neill's work. This is achieved through the use of archival-quality inks and premium, acid-free papers or canvas, ensuring that each print is not only visually stunning but also long-lasting.
One of the key advantages of the Giclée process is its ability to replicate the color accuracy and tonal range of the original painting. O'Neill is deeply involved in the color correction process, meticulously adjusting the digital files to match his vision. This attention to detail ensures that each Giclée print is a faithful reproduction of the original, capturing the same emotional impact and aesthetic quality that make his paintings so captivating.
Another significant aspect of O'Neill's Giclée prints is the customization and limited edition nature of each piece. Collectors can choose from a variety of sizes and finishes, allowing them to own a piece of O'Neill's art that fits perfectly within their space. Additionally, each print is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, adding a personal touch and increasing its value as a collectible item.
Peter O'Neill's use of the Giclée process represents a harmonious blend of technology and traditional artistry. It allows his work to reach a broader audience while maintaining the integrity and beauty of the original paintings. For art lovers and collectors, a Giclée print by O'Neill offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of art that is as close to the original as possible, a testament to the artist's dedication to quality and craftsmanship.
